John C. Allison, soldier, enlisted in Kentucky for service in the Texas army on December 18, 1835. He arrived in Texas in Sidney Sherman's company in January 1836, swore allegiance to the Texas government at Nacogdoches on January 14, was promoted to second sergeant on March 15, and fought at the battle of San Jacinto under William Wood. He was discharged from the army in December 1837. He probably left Texas in 1837 and did not return. He did not apply for the headright or the donation land due him for his military services.
