Discover Boyd, Texas: A Small Rural Community
Published: January 3, 2005
Boyd is a small rural community on State Highway 78 about five miles north of Bonham in north central Fannin County. Named for the Boyd family, this settlement probably began by the late 1800s or early 1900s. A country school existed in the 1920s, and county highway maps in the 1930s showed numerous farms in the area. In 1990 Boyd had a population of forty. That number stayed constant through 2000.
