Corral City: A Brief History and Community Overview

Corral City is located at Interstate 35W and Farm Road 407 about ten miles southwest of Denton in southwestern Denton County. The community began in the early 1970s as a mobile home park and officially incorporated in 1973. In 1980 the population was eighty-five and, after a decline to forty-six in 1990, increased to eighty-nine in 2000. Corral City has a convenience store and liquor store. The community contracts with nearby Argyle for police, fire, and court services.
