Discover Five Points: A Hidden Gem in Ellis County

Five Points is a tiny rural community located on Farm Road 876 about eight miles southwest of Waxahachie in western Ellis County. The settlement may have existed by the late 1800s and was reportedly named for its strategic location along a stage route where five roads came together. Ira Green Sr. of the nearby Boz community ran a gin at Five Points, possibly in the late 1800s or early 1900s. In the 1930s the community consisted of a school and scattered farms. No population figures were available until 2000 when Five Points reported ten residents.
