Forest Heights is a residential community located east of State Highway 87 about eight miles north of Orange in northeastern Orange County. Development in this settlement, probably named because of the piney woods in the area, was well established by the early 1970s. The first census figures were reported in 1990 when Forest Heights had 250 residents. That number remained constant in 2000.
