Discover Porter Heights: A Growing Community Near Houston

Porter Heights is a bedroom community located off Farm Road 1314 about twenty-seven miles north of Houston and fourteen miles southeast of Conroe in southeastern Montgomery County. Named for the nearby town of Porter, this community probably began in the 1970s. The first census figures were reported in 1990, when Porter Heights had a population of 1,448. That number increased to 1,490 in 2000.
