Spring Hill is a rural community located about five miles west of Coldspring in the Sam Houston National Forest in central San Jacinto County. This settlement was founded by African Americans, probably in the late 1800s. In the 1930s the community consisted of homes and Spring Hill Church and Cemetery. No population figures were available until 2000 when the census reported thirty-eight residents.
